Handmade producers tend to follow prescribed patterns and instructions and produce more homogenised goods i.e. one size fits all.

Handcrafted products are deemed to be superior to handmade products. Handcraft artisans, tend to pay greater attention to detail, produce more unique and versatile products and inspect each item meticulously for quality. Anything that falls below the artisans’ expectations is generally discarded. Hence there is a greater cost and skill element involved in handcrafted products.
